The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Lee Ka-chiu, announced today the “First Five-Year Plan for the Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region”. Li Jiachao said that the “Hong Kong First Five-Year Plan” has six major goals, including: achieving new breakthroughs in economic development; continuing to improve international competitiveness and influence; speeding up the construction of the northern metropolitan area and improving efficiency; significantly improving people's livelihood and welfare; and making significant progress in integrating and serving the overall development of the country.
