According to data from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, in January-August, the sales area of newly built commercial housing in Beijing was 6.688 million square meters, an increase of 1.6% over the previous year. Among them, residential sales area was 4.895 million square meters, an increase of 12.5%; office buildings were 323,000 square meters, a decrease of 26.3%; and commercial housing was 432,000 square meters, an increase of 18.4%.
