At 06:00 on September 16, the Gravitational 1 Yao3 launch vehicle developed by Beijing commercial space company Oriental Space ignited and launched into the East China Sea. The eight Thousand Sails constellation networked satellites and an EUHT technology test satellite were successfully launched into the scheduled orbit. The launch mission was a complete success. This mission set a new record for payload weight and orbital altitude in a single sea launch in China, fully verifying the adaptability of the sea launch model to medium and large satellite payload missions. The “passengers” of this rocket are mainly networked satellites in China's low-orbit satellite Internet constellation, the Qianfan constellation. The net payload of the rocket exceeds 3 tons, and the orbital altitude is 800 kilometers. Previously, the networking mission of the Thousand Sails constellation was mainly carried out by the “national team” in the space sector, but as the construction of the constellation entered the high-frequency networking period, there was an urgent need for high-capacity, high-frequency, and low-cost capacity supply. The relevant person in charge of Oriental Space explained that at present, Gravity 1 has scheduled missions according to the frequency of once every two months, and has the ability to carry out batch launch missions for constellation networks on a regular basis.
