According to people familiar with the matter, Meta plans to launch a camera-free smart glasses this fall. The camera function of existing smart glasses continues to cause privacy controversy, and Meta hopes to use this to expand its hardware product line. These new glasses, codenamed Luna, have 6 built-in microphones to enable users to voice interact with the Meta AI chatbot and the newly released consumer-grade AI smart device Muse; there is a button on the side of the lens leg that can invoke Meta AI with one click; and equipped with an open speaker, the sound is directed to the ear without blocking the ear canal. Compared to the Ray-Ban co-branded model, the Luna lens leg design is slimmer, and the appearance is closer to ordinary civilian glasses.
