Carlyle Group CEO Harvey Schwartz said that although the market seems to have factored in interest rate hikes, he believes it is unlikely that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates repeatedly. Schwartz said in an interview in Washington on Tuesday that despite both Europe and Iran clashes and ongoing inflation, US economic data is still strong. He expects the Federal Reserve to continue to monitor economic data. “The market clearly expects interest rate hikes,” he said. “But I don't feel like we want to enter a cycle of interest rate hikes; it's not like we want to enter a cycle of drastic interest rate cuts.”
