On September 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Air Force long-range Aeronautical Force Tu-95MS strategic bomber carried out a planned flight over neutral waters of the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea. The flight time was about five hours. The report said that the Russian Navy's Su-33 fighter crew provided fighter escort. At certain stages of the route, the Tu-95MS strategic bomber was accompanied by foreign fighters. The report said that long-range aviation units of the Russian Air Force regularly fly over neutral waters of the Arctic Ocean, the North Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, the Baltic Sea, and the Black Sea, and all flights strictly abide by the rules for the use of international airspace.
