Northeast Pharmaceutical (000597.SZ): Efaviren tablets obtained drug supplement application approval

Recently, Northeast Pharmaceutical Group Shenyang First Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, received the “Drug Supplement Application Approval Notice” approved and issued by the State Drug Administration. The drug is: “efavirenc tablets”.

Efavirene is a selective non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1). Efavirene is a non-competitive HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (RT) inhibitor. It acts on templates, primers, or nucleosides triphosphate, and has a small number of competitive inhibitory effects. Effavirene in doses far exceeding clinical treatment has no inhibitory effect on HIV-2RT and human cellular DNA polymerase α, beta, gamma, and delta.
