Northeast Pharmaceutical (000597.SZ): Empagliflozin tablets obtained drug registration certificate

Recently, Northeast Pharmaceutical Group Shenyang First Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, received the “Drug Registration Certificate” approved and issued by the State Drug Administration. The drug is: “englizine tablets”.

Empagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor that reduces renal glucose reabsorption, lowers the renal glucose threshold, and promotes glucose excretion from urine. Empagliflozin can also reduce sodium reabsorption and increase sodium transport to distal tubules. This may affect several physiological functions, including but not limited to increasing tubular feedback and reducing intraglomerular pressure, reducing pre- and post-cardiac load, and lowering sympathetic activity.
