DMC Global Sees Insider Stock Selling

Simply Wall St·09/15/2026 10:34:48
Listen to the news

From what we can see, insiders were net sellers in DMC Global Inc.'s (NASDAQ:BOOM ) during the past 12 months. That is, insiders sold the stock in greater numbers than they purchased it.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

DMC Global Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The President of Arcadia Products, James Schladen, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$111k worth of shares at a price of US$6.00 each. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (US$6.22). When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. However, while insider selling is sometimes discouraging, it's only a weak signal. We note that the biggest single sale was only 3.1% of James Schladen's holding. James Schladen was the only individual insider to sell over the last year.

Insider Ownership

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Our data indicates that DMC Global insiders own about US$8.1m worth of shares (which is 6.2% of the company). But they may have an indirect interest through a corporate structure that we haven't picked up on. Whilst better than nothing, we're not overly impressed by these holdings.
