The Seoul stock market closed lower for the fourth consecutive trading day on Tuesday due to macroeconomic uncertainty and recent calls from AI industry leaders to slow the pace of industry development, and the Korean won depreciated against the US dollar. The Korea Composite Stock Price Index fell 57.11 points, or 0.85%, to 6627.26 points. Li Jingmin, an analyst at Daxin Securities, said, “Although there are no new negative factors, investors are sensitive to external uncertainties such as interest rates and further increases in international oil prices.” After the US 10-year Treasury yield surpassed 5%, the international benchmark Brent crude rose about 1.6% to above $107 per barrel.
