WCLC (World Lung Cancer Conference) clinical data has been implemented intensively, and domestic and foreign investment banks have successively been optimistic about China's CRO/CDMO recovery.

From September 12 to 15, the 2026 World Lung Cancer Conference (WCLC) was held in Seoul, South Korea. Clinical data on a number of domestically produced innovative drugs were unveiled. 19 oral reports and 45 small-scale oral reports were selected for new Chinese drugs. Both set new historical records, and ADC and dual antibody data in the field of lung cancer became the focus.

Goldman Sachs pointed out that the results for the second quarter and first half of this year reflect that China's CRO/CDMO industry is clearly recovering, corporate profits have exceeded expectations, upward guidelines and orders are strong, and it is optimistic about related industry leaders;

China Merchants Securities also pointed out that at present, the CXO sector has fully recovered in active orders and new orders, leading companies have raised their annual guidelines, industry confidence is sufficient, and overseas clinical research and development demand has reached an inflection point, further supporting the continuation of the industry boom.

Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 152.09 points to close at 52421.2 points, or 0.29%; the S&P 500 stock index fell 37.0 points to close at 7619.98 points, or 0.48%; and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 146.63 points to close at 26186.41 points, or 0.56%.

The trend of large technology stocks diverged. Google-A rose 3.22% and Meta rose 2.71%. AI hardware stocks fell collectively, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 5.86%. Teradyne fell 13.30%, Scantech fell 10.29%, Arm fell 9.74%, and Intel fell 5.59%; optical communication concept stocks plummeted, with Corning down 13.70%, Coherent by 12.73%, Lumentum by 9.92%, and Applied Optoelectronics by 9.11%. Storage concept stocks generally fell, and SK Hynix fell 7.60%. Cybersecurity stocks soared, CrowdStrike Holdings rose 13.85% to a record high, and the market capitalization surpassed 240 billion US dollars. Zscaler is up 16.52%, Tenable Holdings is 16.51%, and Qualys is up 15.06%.

Major bank stocks generally fell, with Bank of America down 5.14% and Goldman Sachs down 3.96%.

Most popular Chinese securities rose, and the Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index rose 0.36%. Ideal Auto increased by 3.05%. The Hang Seng Index ADR rose. On a proportional basis, it closed at 25043.96 points, up 126.36 points or 0.51% from the Hong Kong closing.

WTI crude oil futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose $1.84 for the month to close at $101.89 a barrel, or 1.84%. COMEX gold futures fell $68.90 for the month's consecutive contract, or 1.56%, to $4340.0 per ounce.
