09:08 AM EDT, 09/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- A British court refused to overturn a lifetime ban on Crispin Odey from working in the financial services sector following a sexual harassment scandal involving the hedge fund manager. The Upper Tribunal in London upheld the UK Financial Conduct Authority's ban on Odey but reduced the fine imposed on the hedge fund manager to just over 1.5 million pounds sterling from 1.8 million pounds, according to a Sept. 10 ruling released Monday. The FCA banned Odey from working in the British financial services industry in March 2025 after finding that he failed to act with integrity by attempting to block a disciplinary hearing into allegations that he engaged in sexual harassment against female employees at Odey Asset Management, of which he was also the founder and ultimate majority owner.
