12:59 AM EDT, 09/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- European carmaker Stellantis (STLAM.MI, STLAP.PA) signed a memorandum with Canada-based Roshel outlining steps toward the potential sale of its idled car plant near Toronto, Bloomberg News reported Sept. 12. The deal could avoid a prolonged period of inactivity for the factory located near the Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer's headquarters in Brampton, Ontario, the report noted, citing Stellantis spokesperson LouAnn Gosselin. The Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer is reportedly planning to reactivate the facility to build light utility vehicles as it tries to secure a military contract with the Canadian government. Stellantis and Roshel did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
