Space42 signed an agreement with Viasat to establish Equatys, a shared world infrastructure platform to expand mobile signal coverage and superposition networks in areas not covered by terrestrial networks. Space42 and Viasat will each invest US$400 million as initial share capital. Space42 is expected to invest an additional $200 million in subsequent equity funding rounds for third party investors. With the simultaneous signing of the joint capital increase agreement, the development progress of the first satellite constellation will accelerate. The first phase of the constellation is the first stage of the complete architecture. The complete architectural plan can be expanded to 60 orbital planes and 3 altitude levels, for a total of 2,800 satellites. As demand grows, the architecture can be directly scaled without redesign.
