Roche Outlines Positive Phase 3 Trial Data for Small-cell Lung Cancer Treatment in China

03:42 AM EDT, 09/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Roche's (RO.SW) collaborator MediLink said the randomized phase III Taishan-302 trial evaluating Tam-Peli in Chinese patients with relapsed small-cell lung cancer achieved its primary endpoint of overall survival, according to a Sunday release. Compared with the standard-of-care topotecan, Tam-Peli lowered the risk of death by 54% and disease progression by 71%, with an objective response rate of 59.1% versus 9.7%. The drug, generically called tambotatug pelitecan, has secured breakthrough therapy designations for relapsed small-cell lung cancer from the US Food and Drug Administration and China's Center of Drug Evaluation. The Swiss-listed pharmaceutical giant has the right to develop, manufacture, and commercialize Tam-Peli outside mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
