The 37th session of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Committee on Fisheries was held in Rome, Italy from September 7 to 11. During the conference, the Chinese side held a side event on the theme of aquaculture to share China's practices in green aquaculture and technological innovation with representatives from many countries and international organizations. During the conference, China and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations co-hosted a side event on “Promoting Aquaculture Innovation to Promote Green and Sustainable Development”. Representatives from various aquaculture countries and international organizations exchanged views on topics such as technological innovation, regional cooperation and development. The Chinese side focused on China's exploration and practice in the fields of sustainable aquaculture, modern facilities and equipment, and digital management. In 2025, China's aquaculture production will be 63.26 million tons, accounting for 83% of the total production of aquatic products. In recent years, new technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and deep-sea aquaculture equipment have accelerated their entry into China's aquaculture production process, promoting the transformation of traditional aquaculture to a green and intelligent direction.
