According to a brief court order issued Friday afternoon, Paramount Sky Dance and a group of state attorneys general challenging its $110 billion deal to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery were ordered to set a meeting date in late October to negotiate a possible settlement of the state lawsuit. The American Writers Union West will also participate in the negotiations. The meeting will be presided over by US San Francisco District Judge Thomas Hickson. A spokesman for California Attorney General Rob Bonta said the court-ordered settlement meeting only meant that the judge asked the parties to meet and did not indicate that a settlement was ongoing.
