Due to factors such as the expansion of storage production, narrowing price increases, interest rates, and cross-border leverage, the stock prices of South Korea's two leading memory chip companies showed a correction after experiencing a round of rapid rise. The huge shareholder return plans previously launched by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have not been able to continue to support the restoration of their market capitalization. On September 11, as of the close, Samsung Electronics fell 3.53% to 259,500 won per share, with a market capitalization of about 1713.74 trillion won, a decrease of 22.8% from the peak market capitalization of about 2219 trillion won in early June; SK Hynix fell 2.21% to 1812000 won per share, with a market value of about 1350.59 trillion won, a decrease of 36.2% from the peak of about 2118 trillion won in late June. Zhou Hua, chief analyst at CINNO Research, analyzed to reporters that after Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix announced investor return plans in mid-late August, there was a clear rebound in stock prices. On September 7, the shares of the two companies rose 5.7% and 8.1%, respectively. Meanwhile, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index rebounded by a cumulative total of about 27.5% from its July 30 low.
