More than a quarter of a large Russian bank's corporate loans have been classified as problematic loans, highlighting the continued accumulation of pressure in some sectors of the wartime economy that were hardest hit by high interest rates. Credit Bank of Moscow is recognized by the Bank of Russia as a systemically important financial institution. According to the bank's latest financial report, as of the end of June, the bank's 671 billion ruble corporate loans were classified as problematic loans, accounting for more than 27% of the corporate loan portfolio, which means that the bank determined that these debts may not be fully recovered. In the first half of the year alone, the size of this type of loan surged 28%, indicating that the asset situation of Russia's third-largest private bank is rapidly deteriorating.
