On September 10, the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai released the “2026 China Business Report”. The report shows that due to improved financial performance, improvements in the geographical environment, and optimization of the regulatory environment, the business confidence of the surveyed enterprises in Huamei has rebounded sharply. At the same time, however, competition in the domestic market is becoming increasingly fierce, raising the threshold for foreign-funded enterprises to operate in China. This year, a total of 262 member companies of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai participated in the survey, covering aspects such as company performance, economic prospects, investment, business challenges, regulatory treatment, US-China trade relations, and supply chain adjustments. Raymond, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, said, “Member companies have really felt the government's efforts to improve the regulatory environment. This year, the stabilizing relationship between the US and China has further consolidated these results. We call on the two countries to take advantage of recent interaction to establish a stable and transparent institutional framework to create more favorable conditions for cross-border trade and investment.”
