The Chinese Permanent Mission in Geneva, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the European Union jointly hosted a dialogue meeting on the theme of the UN Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Knowledge Center at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on the 8th. Minister Li Xiaomei presided over and delivered the keynote address. Representatives from South Africa, Mexico, the European Union, Malaysia, non-governmental organizations, and academics made speeches. Permanent representatives and senior diplomats from many countries attended. Li Xiaomei pointed out that China has always insisted on raising the level of human rights protection in the Chinese-style modernization process, and is committed to promoting its own practical experience in developing human rights to international platforms. The Economic and Social Rights Resolution authorizes the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to establish a knowledge center and play a greater role in empowering the healthy development of the international human rights cause. All parties expressed their gratitude to the Chinese side for participating in the joint event and actively shared good examples and useful experiences of cooperation with the Knowledge Center.
