On September 7, the APEC Power System Resilience Construction Seminar was held in Beijing. The Chinese side announced the 2026 APEC “China Year” energy sector hosts independently contributed “Recommended Solutions to Improve the Resilience of Electric Power Systems”. The plan focuses on the core requirements for safe and stable operation of power systems, incorporates practical experience in disaster prevention and mitigation, emergency protection and flexible adjustment of China's power system, strengthens the physical foundation, improves the market and policy system optimization system environment, deepens management and emergency coordination to establish a safety line as the core framework, covers infrastructure and technical equipment construction throughout the source-network-load-storage chain, and forms a replicable and universally adaptable power system resiliency improvement path, providing reference for each economy to promote resilience construction in line with its own national conditions. Under the guidance of China's National Energy Administration, the plan was prepared under the leadership of China's State Grid Corporation, a member unit participating in the APEC Energy Partnership Network. It relies on the implementation of the APEC Energy Self-financing Fund project. It is one of the five independent contributions of the hosts in the 2026 APEC “China Year” energy sector. More than 100 representatives from various APEC economic and energy departments, relevant international organizations, energy companies, and research institutes attended the conference.
