On the morning of the 9th, a fleet of ships composed of the Changshan and Five Tigers of the China Maritime Police successfully completed the 2026 North Pacific high seas fishery enforcement cruise mission and successfully returned to Hong Kong. This is the 11th cruise carried out by the Chinese Maritime Police on the high seas of the North Pacific Ocean. During the cruise, in accordance with relevant United Nations General Assembly resolutions and the “North Pacific High Seas Fishery Resources Conservation and Management Convention”, etc., the Chinese Maritime Police fleet increased publicity on high seas fishery laws, regulations and conservation management measures, strengthened inspection and supervision of fishing vessels in operation, and checked information on fishing vessels registered in regional fishery management. A total of 95 fishing vessels from various countries were boarded and inspected, and 7 helicopter flights were carried out to enforce the high seas. They effectively carried out high seas enforcement duties and maintained the order of fishery production in the North Pacific Ocean. The cruise took 45 days, covered more than 1,800 nautical miles, and took more than 2,100 hours. In the next step, the Chinese Maritime Police will continue to carry out in-depth high seas fishery enforcement cruises, actively fulfill their obligations under the Convention, and play their due role in effectively maintaining the order of fishery production on the high seas.
