Recently, the study “Optimal Therapeutics of Cognitive Digital Therapeutics for Pediatric Patients with Cognitive Disorders: A Retrospective Study Based on Big Data”, jointly conducted by Professor Ni Xin's team from Beijing Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University and the research team of the Group, was published in the top international comprehensive Medical journal BMC Medicine (2025 Journal Impact Factor: 8.7).
The study is a retrospective study based on real world data. It included 38,526 cognitively impaired children and adolescents (3-18 years) who completed at least two weeks of training using the Group's “Brain Function Information Management Platform Software System” (Class II medical device, Xiang Device Note: 20182210142). The system depicts the dose-response relationship in the three dimensions of daily training time, weekly training frequency, and total training cycle. The platform includes 123 tasks adapted from classical paradigms, covering the four major cognitive areas of perception, attention, memory, and executive function. The study used the average cognitive index (MCI) as the main outcome index to reflect comprehensive task performance during training.
Key results:
(1) The optimal daily dose for the overall population: Using 0-4 minutes a day as the baseline, training for more than 8 minutes in a single day can there be a significant improvement. 16-20 minutes a day corresponds to the highest cognitive performance, making it the best daily dose for the overall population. After exceeding this range, continuing to train for a single day did not bring any significant additional benefits.
(ii) Age and gender stratification differences: The four subgroups showed different optimal daily doses and total doses:
(3) Weekly training frequency: The highest cognitive performance of the four subgroups all showed 7 days of weekly training; most subgroups required at least 5 days of weekly training to show significant improvement.
(4) Overall intervention cycle: Regardless of age and gender, children who have been trained for more than 1 month showed significant cognitive improvement compared to those who had been trained for less than 1 month.
According to the findings, this is the first large-scale study to define the optimal age and gender specific digital training dose for children with cognitive impairment, providing strong evidence for individualized cognitive digital therapy intervention and providing a reference for the formulation of future treatment guidelines.
