The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly opened on the 8th at the UN headquarters in New York. Rebuilding trust and implementing management changes will be the theme of the work of this session of the General Assembly. In his opening address, 81st General Assembly President Rahman said that the United Nations is facing serious challenges, multilateralism is under pressure, and the “trust deficit” is testing people's confidence in international institutions and collective action. To this end, he chose the theme of the current session of the General Assembly as “Rebuilding Trust and Managing Change: A United Nations that brings effectiveness to all”. Rahman said that the current session of the General Assembly has six priority tasks, including strengthening peace and security, accelerating sustainable development, strengthening climate action, promoting human rights, ensuring that technological change works for all, and restoring trust in multilateralism.
