Pekat Group secures three Johor Bahru subcontracts worth RM57.2mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Pekat Group Bhd has secured three subcontracts worth a combined RM57.18mil for earthing and lightning protection works for a project in Johor Bahru.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Pekat said its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Pekat E & LP Sdn Bhd (PELP), had executed the three subcontract agreements with a Malaysian contractor.

The contractor is principally involved in engineering, construction services and investment holding. Pekat said it was unable to disclose the contractor's identity due to confidentiality obligations.

The first subcontract, valued at RM27.21mil, involves the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of an earthing and lightning protection system.

The works commenced on July 6, 2026 and are expected to be completed by September 2027.

The second subcontract, worth RM4.64mil, covers the supply and installation of an earthing and lightning protection system for a substation. The works commenced on March 24, 2026 and are expected to be completed by February 2027.

The third subcontract, valued at RM25.33mil, involves the design, supply, installation and testing of earthing and lightning protection services, including associated civil works. The works commenced on Jan 30, 2026 and are expected to be completed by February 2027.
