According to reports, Kioxia recently held a technical briefing on semiconductor memory and other technologies. Kioxia plans to increase the processing speed of NAND flash memory and replace some DRAM through CXL modules specially designed for artificial intelligence workloads. It is reported that the CXL module can reduce the time required to read data to less than 1/10 of traditional products. With high-speed data reading, its performance can be closer to DRAM. Kioxia pointed out that if part of the DRAM is replaced with a CXL module, the capacity can be increased to 2 times and the performance can be increased by 30%.
