The Zhitong Finance App learned that lithium stocks fell in the afternoon. As of press release, Ganfeng Lithium (01772) fell 4.4% to HK$36.48; Tianqi Lithium (09696) fell 4.53% to HK$34.56.

According to the news, in the afternoon, the main contract for lithium carbonate futures dived by more than 8%. The lowest was 140,540 yuan/ton, a retracement of more than 10% from the high of 160,000 yuan at the end of last month. Recently, Nonferrous Metals Network released weekly inventory data, showing that weekly inventory withdrawals have narrowed sharply from month to month, and weekly production has increased markedly, triggering pessimism in the market to a certain extent.

Tongguan Jinyuan Futures pointed out that on the fundamentals, on the supply side, the Zimbabwean lithium mine gradually arrived in Hong Kong, the relevant production line maintenance was completed and full production resumed, some new lithium ore production lines continued to rise, and expectations of supply easing were gradually fulfilled. On the demand side, the latest demand for lithium batteries has been revised, and the logic for replacing sodium electricity has been enhanced. The inventory side continues to be removed, but the volume of warehouse orders is high, putting upward pressure on the futures market. Short-term sentiment is gradually declining, and lithium carbonate is expected to fluctuate weakly.
