South Korea's Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources issued a statement on September 4 saying that four US companies have promised to invest a total of 2 billion US dollars in South Korea's semiconductor materials, equipment, advanced materials for displays, and offshore wind power. Specifically, Air Products will advance a semiconductor gas supply facility expansion project in Pyeongtaek; semiconductor ion implantation equipment manufacturer Axcelis will expand production facilities in South Korea; Corning will expand its manufacturing capacity in South Korea and continue to expand its business in South Korea; and Pacifico Energy will launch a 3.2 GW offshore wind power project in the Gwangju region.
