The Zhitong Finance App learned that on Thursday, HCM.US (HCM.US) surged more than 14% to $13.75. According to the news, Hutchison Pharmaceutical announced that its subsidiary Hutchison Whampoa Pharmaceuticals (Shanghai) and a subsidiary of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK.US) have reached an exclusive development and licensing agreement, granting GlaxoSmithKline subsidiaries the right to develop and commercialize the HMPL-A830 on a global scale other than mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Clinical development will first focus on colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, and lung cancer indications.

The agreement includes a $110 million down payment and potential development, registration and commercialization milestone payments, totaling $1,295 million, plus royalties based on net sales. This world-first antibody-targeted conjugation drug (ATTC) candidate uses a highly selective, highly active KRAS (Kirsten rat sarcoma) small molecule inhibitor as a payload and conjugates it with an anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antibody. ATTC is guided by antibodies, so that the potent cell-killing payload can selectively focus on tumor tissue and exert activity.

According to the terms of the agreement, Hutchison Whampoa Pharmaceuticals (Shanghai) will be responsible for the HMPL-A830 global Phase I development project, which is expected to commence in the second half of 2026. GlaxoSmithKline's subsidiaries will be responsible for all subsequent clinical development and commercialization activities outside of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
