05:49 AM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority imposed several actions on ING Groep (INGA.AS) unit ING Bank Australia following the lender's "material" breaches of its minimum liquidity requirements. The actions include license conditions requiring ING Australia to carry out independent investigations into its inaccurate liquidity disclosures and develop a comprehensive remediation plan, increasing the company's minimum liquidity requirements, and a $50 million operational risk capital add-on, according to a Thursday release. In July, ING Australia informed the regulator that it found material miscalculations resulting in the significant overstatement of its liquidity coverage ratio, or LCR, over several years. Specifically, the bank was reporting LCRs of 160% when the actual figures were substantially lower or below the regulatory minimum LCR requirement of 100%.
