Listen to the news

Investors who take an interest in Tomson Group Limited (HKG:258) should definitely note that the MD & Executive Chairman, Feng Hsu, recently paid HK$2.11 per share to buy HK$1.6m worth of the stock. However, it only increased shareholding by a small percentage, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

Tomson Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent purchase by Feng Hsu was the biggest purchase of Tomson Group shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of HK$2.17. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. The good news for Tomson Group share holders is that an insider was buying at near the current price. Feng Hsu was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.

Feng Hsu purchased 3.90m shares over the year. The average price per share was HK$2.21. You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below. Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own.
