Peger Biopharmaceutical-B (02565) signs material transfer agreement with SN BioScience to promote long-term development of three innovative peptide drug candidates for next-generation metabolic diseases, including APGP6

According to the Zhitong Finance App, Peger Biopharmaceutical-B (02565) announced that the company recently signed a material transfer agreement (MTA) with SN BioScience, Inc. (SN BioScience). SN BioScience is a South Korean biotechnology company focusing on the development of differentiated treatment platforms for obesity, metabolic diseases, and oncology.

According to the MTA, SN BioScience applied its self-developed serine nucleic acid (SNA) long-term drug delivery platform to the Group's three self-developed innovative peptide candidates for metabolic diseases, including APGP6. The two sides will conduct joint research on the formulation and long-term delivery of relevant drug candidates to evaluate the vivo performance, pharmacokinetic (PK) characteristics and further development potential of relevant drug candidates and platform combinations, and explore the possibility of further enhancing product differentiation and development value by combining innovative molecules with long-term delivery technology.

The collaboration covered three innovative drug candidates, including APGP6, at once, rather than conducting routine technical evaluations for a single candidate product. The two sides will verify the technical compatibility of the SNA platform with the Group's next-generation innovative peptide assets in parallel, and explore possibilities to further extend the duration of action, optimize dosage plans, and enhance overall product characteristics.

The group has long focused on the fields of diabetes, obesity and related metabolic diseases, and continues to promote next-generation innovative therapies with independent intellectual property rights and potential for differentiation. The Board believes that product differentiation for next-generation metabolic disease therapies will not only come from innovation at the sub-level, but also depend on duration of action, pharmacokinetic characteristics, and ease of administration.

The cooperation revolves around the Group's independent innovation of drug candidates. SN Bioscience simultaneously applied its SNA long-term drug delivery platform to the Group's multiple drug candidates, enabling the two parties to more systematically evaluate the potential of combining different innovative peptides with long-term delivery technology, and further expand the development path of the Group's existing innovative assets.

The board of directors believes that this cooperation is not an isolated technical verification of a single drug candidate, but rather simultaneously applies the same cutting-edge long-term delivery platform to the Group's various independent innovation assets. Three drug candidates, including APGP6, are being evaluated simultaneously, which is expected to further expand the expansion space for relevant drug candidates in terms of long-term efficacy, product form, and global development, and create conditions for subsequent deeper product cooperation.

According to the MTA, if relevant research shows good technical adaptability and potential for further development, the two sides can further discuss licensing, joint development, commercialization or other forms of strategic cooperation on relevant drug candidates.

Therefore, this cooperation is not limited to preliminary technical verification, but also lays the foundation for the two sides to further explore deeper product level and commercial cooperation. The structure and commercial terms of any subsequent cooperation will be separately negotiated between the two parties, and a separate formal agreement must be signed. The MTA itself does not require any party to enter into any such subsequent arrangement.
