Recently, the China Securities Association organized the drafting of the “Comprehensive Account Management Guidelines for Securities Company Customers” to solicit comments from the industry, marking that the pilot account management function optimization pilot, which began in 2021, is progressing towards standardization throughout the industry. The “Guidelines” have a total of 47 articles, which systematically regulate integrated account management, fund transfers from accounts with the same name, and management of classified sub-accounts, etc., to guide securities companies to carry out integrated account services in a compliant, prudent, and orderly manner. Interviewees believe that the biggest breakthrough in integrated accounts is to integrate clients' funds and assets scattered across different accounts, such as ordinary, credit, and options, into a unified account view and scheduling system. In the long run, integrated account services will become the basic project for the digital operation and wealth management transformation of brokerage firms, determining the core competitiveness of retail and institutional businesses in the next 5 to 10 years.
