The 30-year British bond yield rose 7.7 basis points to 5.858%, reaching 5.897% at 16:44, approaching the top 5.927% in the second quarter of 1998 and the top 6.258% in the first quarter of that year; the yield on 50-year British bonds rose 6.9 basis points to 5.414%. According to Bloomberg data, 16:44reached 5.452%, breaking the record high of 5.414% set on August 18. The 2/10-year British bond yield spread fell 4.293 basis points to +61.428 basis points.
