Eurozone treasury bond yields continued to rise on September 1, local time, due to the sell-off in the global bond market. German 10-year Treasury yields rose to 3.36%, a 15-year high; 30-year yields rose to 3.845%, the highest since 2011; French 10-year Treasury yields rose to 4.21%, the highest since 2008; and Italian 10-year Treasury yields also hit 4.22%, the highest since 2023. Analysts believe that the Middle East conflict is driving up global energy costs and increasing inflationary pressure. At the same time, massive debt issuance by tech giants and market concerns about the financial situation of some countries have further boosted treasury bond yields.
