The head of the European Affairs Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vladislav Maslenikov, said that the European Commission's proposal to include about 100 billion euros in aid to Ukraine in the 2028-2034 EU budget draft is an attempt to deliberately delay the conflict. Maslenikov said, “As early as July 2025, the European Commission proposed that it be included in the EU's draft multi-year financial plan 2028-2034. We see this move as yet another attempt to deliberately prolong the conflict in Ukraine.”
