Risecomm Group Holdings Limited (HKG:1679) insiders who bought shares over the past year were rewarded handsomely last week. The stock rose 15%, resulting in a HK$38m rise in the company's market capitalisation, translating to a gain of 171% on their initial investment. In other words, the original CN¥19.3m purchase is now worth CN¥52.3m.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Risecomm Group Holdings

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Executive Director Bailing Ye for HK$10.0m worth of shares, at about HK$0.50 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of HK$1.36. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.
