The US Department of Defense announced on Monday that it has introduced the Grok government version of Starshield AI and OpenAI's ChatGPT for unclassified military use, expanding the number of artificial intelligence assistants on the department's platform. The Ministry of Defense said in an announcement that the department's personnel will receive “advanced features, including deep thinking reasoning, adaptive reasoning models, customizable workspaces, long-lasting projects, and reusable 'playbooks' — these scripts can capture and transfer institutional knowledge on a large scale.” The Ministry of Defense said, “The Grok government version of Starshield AI can help coalition forces perform tasks faster and more accurately in various combat scenarios, covering everything from market research and analysis for procurement professionals to supply chain management for logistics personnel.”
