The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced today that as of July 31, 2026, the total assets of the Exchange Fund were HK$4,403.7 billion, a decrease of HK$59.9 billion from the end of June 2026. Of these, HKD assets decreased by HK$77.2 billion, while foreign currency assets increased by HK$17.3 billion. The decrease in Hong Kong dollar assets was mainly due to a decrease in the month-end balance of subscribed and unsettled Exchange Fund notes and bonds.
