The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to TrendForce Jibang Consulting's latest panel industry research, although the shortage of memory supply and tight prices increase the cost pressure on the smartphone supply chain and affect mobile phone brands' 2026 shipping plans, the second-hand phone and maintenance markets are still supportive, helping mobile phone panel demand to perform better than expected. It is estimated that global shipments in 2026 will be about 2.25 billion units, and the annual decline is reduced to 2.5% compared to previous estimates.
TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that demand for smartphone panels is gradually being concentrated on both AMOLED and a-Si LCDs. AMOLED continues to penetrate the middle and high-end markets, while a-Si LCD maintains a certain shipment scale based on cost advantages and demand in the mid- and low-end, used mobile and maintenance markets. In contrast, the application space of LTPS LCD in the mobile phone market continues to be compressed, and related production capacity is gradually shifting to automotive, IT and other markets. Looking at the estimated shipment volume in 2026, LCD mobile phone panels (including a-Si LCD and LTPS LCD) are about 1.33 billion pieces, accounting for about 59% of total shipments; AMOLED mobile phone panels are about 920 million pieces, accounting for about 41%.
BOE remained the leader in shipments in the second quarter, and TCL Huaxing narrowed the market gap with Samsung Display
Looking at the smartphone panel shipment performance in the second quarter of 2026, the overall shipment volume was about 560 million pieces, a slight decrease from the previous quarter. The panel faucet BOE (BOE) has shipped about 146 million pieces, maintaining the world's top market share with a market share of 26.1%. The BoE product portfolio covers a-Si LCD, LTPS LCD, and AMOLED. In addition to supplying mobile phone brands, a-Si LCD also maintains significant shipments in the used phone and maintenance markets; AMOLED continues to benefit from increased adoption by mobile phone brands, supporting its overall shipping performance.
SDC (Samsung Display), which ranked second, shipped about 90 million tablets in the second quarter, with a market share of about 16.1%. It mainly supplies AMOLED products and mainly supplies its own brand series and Apple (Apple) iPhone products. Although the 2026 Android (Android) smartphone market is affected by rising costs of components such as memory, and the brand's stocking attitude is relatively conservative, demand for AMOLED is still relatively stable for Samsung (Samsung) and Apple's mid-to-high-end and flagship models, which helps SDC maintain the overall shipping scale.
The third name is TCL CSOT (TCL Huaxing), which shipped about 84 million tablets in the second quarter, and its market share exceeded 15% for the first time. Shipments of LCD mobile phone panels on its T19 production line increased significantly, which became the main driving force supporting the growth of shipments in the second quarter. Although overall demand in the new machine market is weak, the used mobile phone and maintenance market still supports LCD panels to maintain a certain shipping scale, boosting the overall market share of TCL CSOT.
HKC (Hecco) ranked fourth with a market share of about 13% in the second quarter, with a-Si LCD as its main shipping force. Tianma (Tianma), which ranked fifth, has a market share of about 12.4%. The product layout covers LCD and AMOLED. In addition to continuing to supply major mobile phone brands, the share of a-Si LCD product shipments will also increase in 2026, supporting overall shipping performance.
