On August 31, according to law, the Beijing Third Intermediate People's Court publicly convicted Shang Zuguo, former vice chairman of the Beijing Tongzhou District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and first-level inspector, for taking bribes. The defendant Shang Zuguo was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of RMB 800,000 yuan for taking bribes; the proceeds and fruits of the crime of defendant Shang Zuguo being bribed were confiscated and handed over to the national treasury.
