NASA's $4.3 billion Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will be launched today. The Roman telescope is mounted on top of SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket and is scheduled to be launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida at 7:26 a.m. EST. After lift-off, the spacecraft will travel to the second Lagrange point orbit around 1 million miles from Earth, which is also the “home” of the James Webb Space Telescope. The spacecraft is expected to begin sky observations in this orbit as early as December.
