Oneview Healthcare (ASX:ONE) Shares Rally Despite Losses And Short Cash Runway

Simply Wall St·08/28/2026 17:33:24
Listen to the news

Oneview Healthcare just closed at A$0.195, capping a 30% gain over the past month. However, today’s H1 2026 numbers pulled investor attention back to a harder truth. This is still a growth story built on losses and a short cash runway, not a clean profitability pivot.

The market appears to be cheering progress in the recurring revenue mix and the move to a 70% gross margin. At the same time, Oneview Healthcare reported a net loss of €5.493m for the half and highlighted cash that covers less than a year, which keeps financing risk firmly in play.

Oneview’s SaaS shift hits key revenue milestones

Bulls argue that Oneview Healthcare can pivot from project work to a scalable, high margin SaaS engine. The latest half year gives that claim some real backing. Recurring revenue rose 13% on a reported basis and 20% in constant currency and now accounts for 79% of group revenue compared with 60% a year earlier. Gross margin lifted to 70%, which fits the story of a richer software mix and less reliance on lower margin hardware deployments. Cash OpEx fell 6% after the 2025 restructuring and the EBITDA loss narrowed 11%, which points to some operating leverage as recurring revenue builds. However, live endpoints only reached about 15,000 with additions held back by delays and decommissions. That means the revenue base is improving in quality, but the scale up of installed beds that bulls want to see is still incomplete.

Losses, cash runway and execution risks still bite

Bears focus on persistent losses, funding risk and slow conversion of a concentrated pipeline. H1 2026 does not remove those worries. Oneview Healthcare still reported a €5.493m net loss and operating cash outflow only improved 15%. Cash of €7.2m at 30 June, or €11.4m including the discretionary placement tranche, implies less than a year of cover at recent burn unless cash generation improves. That keeps the risk of further funding firmly on the table. Revenue concentration and timing risk are also visible. Total revenue declined 13.5% as deployments and hardware sales softened and a key Children’s Hospital of Ireland rollout slipped again, while 481 Australian endpoints were decommissioned in a pressured market. The pipeline around Bedside Hub and Baxter looks large, but as of today it is still largely unconverted, so the bearish view on execution and funding remains only partly challenged.
