AlphaValue/Baader Europe Cuts Prosus EPS Forecasts Amid Shift in Tencent's Market Value

07:26 AM EDT, 08/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AlphaValue/Baader Europe cut its EPS forecasts for technology investor Prosus (PRX.AS, PRX.JO), taking into account the change in Tencent's market value since the research firm's previous update. "We have revised our forward EPS estimates down, primarily for two reasons. First, we have revised down our assumptions for gains on Tencent disposals. Second, we have reduced Tencent's expected equity-accounted contribution following a downward revision to our earnings estimates for the company," analysts wrote in a Thursday note. "Together, lower disposal gains and a weaker contribution from Tencent explain most of the reduction in our FY27 and FY28 EPS forecasts." For fiscal years 2027 and 2028, the research firm slashed its EPS projections by 19.9% and 17.9%, respectively, to $4.87 and $5.22. The stock has a buy rating, with a price target of 56.8 euros.
