Since the “8.26” landslide disaster occurred in Jilong County, the Tibet Transportation Department has implemented the emergency rescue and disaster relief work arrangements of the Party Committee and Government of the Autonomous Region, and quickly organized forces to fully carry out rescue and maintenance operations on the affected section of the G216 line leading to Geelong Port. As of 18:00 on August 27, about 800 meters of the affected section of the road had been cleared. The Tibet Transportation Department has refined and perfected road rescue and maintenance plans, scientifically deployed and dynamically adjusted emergency rescue forces, optimized the allocation of personnel, machinery, and materials in an integrated manner, further clarified the responsibilities of each position, and compacted responsibilities to people. Excavators, loaders, etc. were used to fully carry out dredging and maintenance operations on the 3-kilometer section of the G216 route leading to the Geelong Port. At the same time, comprehensive mapping and verification of damage to roads, vehicles and equipment in the disaster area was carried out. Four emergency buses, 10 personnel, 3 trucks, and 60 tons of rescue supplies have been dispatched. At the same time, in order to ensure the safe and smooth flow of the main road of life from Lhasa to the disaster area, the Tibet Transportation Department resolutely implemented the “one person, one section, one policy” emergency maintenance responsibility mechanism, encrypted the frequency of inspections and duty on highways in the relevant countries and provinces, and made every effort to ensure the safe and smooth flow of life passages leading to the disaster area.
