Since the disaster occurred, under the deployment of the Party Committee and Government of the Autonomous Region, the Autonomous Region Natural Resources Department immediately initiated a Level I emergency response for geological disaster prevention and made every effort to deal with the disaster. On the afternoon of the same day, the department organized three groups of working groups to arrive at the scene with equipment such as drones, satellite phones, and Beidou terminals. At present, the Ministry of Natural Resources working group and relevant personnel from the Autonomous Region Department of Natural Resources have arrived at the frontline to carry out emergency rescue operations. After verification, the ice collapse on the Nepalese side shoveled off the channel to form debris flow, blocking the flood and mudslides that broke out downstream after Donglin Zangbu. The overall landslide on the other side of Guoba Village in Sale Township formed a weir lake. It is estimated that the dam is about 50 meters high and more than 3,000 meters long, posing a serious threat to the downstream. On the 27th, a working group from the Ministry of Natural Resources held an emergency rescue and deployment meeting to clarify four tasks: investigating the source of the ice collapse to determine secondary risks; monitoring water conditions in weir lakes and implementing early warnings; comparing images before and after the disaster to support search and rescue; and investigating settlements and road risks. The Department of Natural Resources has issued an emergency notice requiring the entire region to strictly implement the disaster warning “wake-up call” and “response” mechanism and a 24-hour duty system to consolidate disaster prevention responsibilities and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
