04:52 AM EDT, 08/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Polish government is urging the European Commission to impose a 250 million-euro penalty on Meta Platforms (FB2A.F) under the Digital Services Act for failing to address fraudulent advertisements on its platforms. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Polish Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said Thursday the government sent a formal request to the European Union regulator after a test by computer emergency response team CERT Polska found that of 122 fraudulent ads reported to Meta, the company declined to remove ads in 86.8% of the cases. Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
