According to data, in July, the country sold a total of 87.571 billion yuan of lottery tickets, an increase of 35.622 billion yuan over the previous year, an increase of 68.6%. Mainly during the Soccer World Cup, sales of lottery tickets grew rapidly. Among them, welfare lottery agencies sold 15.631 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2,296 billion yuan, a decrease of 12.8%; sports lottery agencies sold 71,940 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.918 billion yuan, an increase of 111.5%.

National lottery sales in July 2026

I. National lottery ticket sales

In July, the country sold a total of 87.571 billion yuan of lottery tickets, an increase of 35.622 billion yuan over the previous year, an increase of 68.6%. Mainly during the Soccer World Cup, sales of lottery tickets grew rapidly. Among them, welfare lottery agencies sold 15.631 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2,296 billion yuan, a decrease of 12.8%; sports lottery agencies sold 71,940 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.918 billion yuan, an increase of 111.5%.

In January-July, the country sold a total of 414.445 billion yuan of lottery tickets, an increase of 44.642 billion yuan over the previous year, an increase of 12.1%. Among them, welfare lottery agencies sold 115.720 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 9.317 billion yuan, a decrease of 7.5%; sports lottery agencies sold 298.725 billion yuan, an increase of 53.96 billion yuan over the previous year, an increase of 22.0%.

II. Sales of lottery tickets by type

In July, sales of digital lotto tickets were 14.488 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.7%; sales of lottery tickets amounted to 60.46 billion yuan, an increase of 38.544 billion yuan, an increase of 175.9%; sales of open lottery tickets were 9.425 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1,544 billion yuan, a decrease of 14.1%; sales of keno lottery tickets were 3.197 billion yuan, a decrease of 17.3% year-on-year. In July, digital lotto, quiz, instant, and keno lottery sales accounted for 16.5%, 69.0%, 10.8%, and 3.7% of total lottery ticket sales, respectively. Video lottery sales were $505.1 billion, an increase of $0.002.8 billion over the same period last year.

In January-July, sales of digital lotto tickets were RMB 10.119 billion, a decrease of 4.432 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.2%; sales of lottery tickets amounted to 219.733 billion yuan, an increase of 35.5%; sales of instant lottery tickets amounted to 73.81 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5.848 billion yuan, a decrease of 7.4%; and sales of Keno lottery tickets amounted to RMB 21.59 billion, a decrease of 10.9%. In January-July, digital lotto, quiz, instant, and keno lottery sales accounted for 24.2%, 53.0%, 17.6%, and 5.2% of total lottery ticket sales, respectively. Video lottery sales were 0.034.8 million yuan, an increase of 0.025.6 billion yuan over the previous year.

III. Lottery ticket sales by region

In July, compared with the same period last year, lottery ticket sales in all 31 provinces across the country achieved positive growth. Among them, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Shandong increased significantly, with year-on-year increases of 2.94 billion yuan, 2.87 billion yuan, 2.63 billion yuan, and 2.60 billion yuan, respectively.

In January-July, compared with the same period last year, with the exception of Chongqing, lottery ticket sales in 30 other provinces across the country all achieved positive growth. Among them, Guangdong, Shandong, Henan, and Zhejiang increased significantly, with year-on-year increases of 3.81 billion yuan, 3.51 billion yuan, 3.37 billion yuan, and 3.26 billion yuan, respectively.
