International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said that at a time when the global economy is facing increasing pressure, governments should begin to deal with increasing fiscal challenges, and central banks should continue to work to reduce inflation. “All countries need to resolve their own fiscal problems, develop and publish credible plans to ensure that debt and deficits are on a sustainable track,” Georgieva said in a prepared speech at the IMF's Washington headquarters on Tuesday. “Central banks must be highly focused on the mission of achieving price stability.”
